Girls in Action

GA is a comprehensive missions education program for girls in grades one through six
More Info

Through WMU, girls in grades one through six are changing lives for Christ - and growing in their own faith journeys at the same time. The GAs of Gateway meet on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 upstairs behind the sanctuary.

Games, crafts, mission studies, and earning badges are all a part of the Sunday evening activities that teach the girls about missions. GAs are also involved in different ministry projects throughout the year. Sleepovers, lock-ins, and other parties provide a time of fun and fellowship for the girls.

If you would like additional information about the GA program, you can visit their website at www.gapassport.com or contact our GA Director, Kathy Greer, here.

More Info

RA’s are 1st-6th grade boys who meet together to learn about missions and how to live a Godly life.

Games, Bible studies, working on badges, and learning how to live out the RA Pledge are all incorporated into the Wednesday evening class time. RA’s have the opportunity to participate in two camp-outs and several field trips during the year.

The RA Racer Derby is one of the big events held during the year. Each boy designs and builds his racer with the leaders providing help. There are two categories for the cars, design and speed. The top winners are able to compete in the local and district races.

Coaches
Gateway's recreation ministry can only exist when individuals step up to lead.  We need individuals who are committed to being Godly examples.  More important than teaching children sports is telling them about Christ.  That's the primary purpose of the coach.  The sport is the platform; Christ is the message.  Contact Scott Taylor if you are interested in coaching.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it."  Proverbs 22:6

Re-Creation
We know that god is the creator of all things.  When you become a Christian, you are 'born again' or to put it in another term: 're-created'.  It is therefore interesting to note that re-creation and recreation are the same base word.  As you look toward the Recreation Ministry of Gateway Baptist Church, you must look to the God of creation and re-creation as its author.
At Gateway, we intend the activities that take place during our leisure time to be a source of helping people become aware of their need for a relationship to God, his daily role int heir lives, and their place in His kingdom work.  Our desire is to develop relationships and use recreation to share the message of salvation, win people to Christ, and to lead those who know Him to grow in Him.
Are you looking for something to fill the void in your life?  This ministry offers you a way to develop a relationship with people who have the same interests as you, to introduce you to the life of Gateway, and most importantly a relationship with Jesus Chris,  He said "I have come that they might have life and have it in abundance." John 10:10
